High Country Conservation Advocates would like to thank everyone for supporting the 44th annual Red Lady Salvation Ball. We had to wait just a little longer this year, but thanks to the hard work and generous donations from so many of you, this year’s Ball was a huge success for all the right reasons. We soaked in the summer sunshine, danced to fabulous local music, supported the work to protect Red Lady/Mt. Emmons, and of course, we crowned our newest Red Lady—Audrey Anderson! Audrey has done so much to show her devotion to our beloved mountain and community, from Vinotok artistry to parading with HCCA on July 4th, attending many Red Lady Balls, commenting on important issues, and being truly loyal to our cause.

Thank you to Ayla, Ian, and all the staff at The Slogar. Their hosting of the Red Lady Ball at such an historic venue was fantastic and their hospitality couldn’t have been better. Our gratitude also goes to the Floodgate Operators, whose music provided a superb soundtrack to the evening. Thank you Kevin, Scott, Ryan, Brian, and Zach!

Many local businesses stepped up to support HCCA and the protection of Red Lady. Thank you to Mountain Tails, Mountain Spirits, Bliss Chiropractic, CB Sports, Thrive Yoga, CB Nordic, and to Kelly at the Alpineer. Thanks to Suzanne Pierson for donating a beautiful print and for the countless other things she does to support HCCA. Thanks also to Avalanche Ranch Hot Springs, to Colorado Kayak Supply, and to Vail Resorts for providing an EPIC pass. Your donations made this one of our most successful raffles to date, and they go a long way toward protecting Red Lady and all of our gorgeous Public Lands and Waters.

A huge shout-out as well to all the volunteers. From selling raffle tickets, to greeting everyone at the door, and cleaning up afterward, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you Beth Goldstone, Bryan Wells, Dave Bumgarner, Henry Louden, Joe Lavorini, Margot Levy, Misty Adams, Sara Herrera, Sarah French, Adge Lindsey, the HCCA board of directors, and everyone else who made this possible. A big thanks also to Nolan Blunck for such great photos of the event. People like you make community events like this happen.

Finally, our utmost gratitude to all of the Red Ladies, especially the newest inductee, Audrey Anderson. You do so much throughout the year to support this community, to support HCCA, and to carry on the legacy of protecting this incredible valley that we all love. We are indebted to all of you.

Till the next Red Lady Salvation Ball, we will see you in the Mountains, in the Valleys, on the Elk Avenue benches, and hopefully at one of our upcoming land stewardship programs. Thank you and see you soon.
