Volunteer Opportunity! Powderhorn Riparian Restoration Project
*This is a 2-day project, and you have the option of signing up for one or both days*
Join HCCA and our partners in Powderhorn on July 26 & 27 to restore a degrading riparian system!
Get your hands dirty, and help restore a degrading and incising system along the confluence of Cebolla and Powderhorn Creeks. No experience is necessary, and training is provided.
Volunteer, learn, play, and witness our
watershed health improve before your own eyes!
We will teach you to build low-tech process-based restoration (LT-PBR) structures that mimic beaver dams and other natural processes that revitalize streams to their former health. In the meantime, you’ll also learn about river ecology including the plants, fish, and wildlife that depend on healthy waterways.
*Free camping is available at Red Bridge Campground (BLM) for those who wish to stay overnight on 7/26*
