Annual Meeting 2021 - “What kind of ancestor do you want to be?”

A fresh batch of gratitude from all of us at HCCA to all of you who attended Thursday’s annual meeting both in person and in spirit. It’s always fantastic to share in this community, especially when it includes a delicious potluck meal paired with great wine. Thanks again to Buckel Family Wines for providing the latter!

The talk and following conversation with Dr John Hausdoerffer got us all thinking. Not only about “What kind of ancestor do you want to be?” (the title of his latest book) but also about what kind of ancestor the Gunnison Valley is to us. Certainly these lands and waters provide for us in many ways. He asked us all how we can learn from this place. In turn, what can we all do to reciprocate and to build our relationship to this place that we call home.

If you missed his talk, you can catch up above. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Here at HCCA we have been taking this thought of giving back to heart and building it into our stewardship program. If you’re feeling inclined to do the same, please come join us! We have several land stewardship opportunities this fall and would love as many helping hands as we can get. You can find more details on each opportunity below.

As always, thank you for being part of our efforts. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
